Arm Lift (brachioplasty)

The skin on the upper arm can become loose and flabby with age, or after weight loss. An arm lift, also known as brachioplasty, removes loose, sagging skin and excess fat deposits for a tighter, smoother appearance.

Procedure

Arm lifts are usually performed as out-patient procedures in our certified operating facility, and the precise techniques may vary depending on the location and amount of skin to be removed and the judgment of your surgeon. Your plastic surgeon may also suggest liposuction in conjunction with an arm lift, to remove excess fat in the upper arms.

What to Expect:

The improvements from an arm lift will be visible immediately after the procedure, though it may take some weeks for the full results to emerge. You will also see some visible scarring, though these may vary depending on the techniques used by your plastic surgeon. Remember: any plastic surgery procedure should be undertaken for yourself alone, and not to meet another person’s ideals or expectations. At Bangor Plastic and Hand Surgery, we’re here to help you look, live, and feel your best!
